Hi, I'm Harriett — Acupuncturist, Chinese medicine practitioner, and mum.
I know first-hand how horrific jaw tension can be — because I lived it.
Mine started when I was working as a professional theatre actress, touring the country and absolutely destroying my jaw in the process. A gua sha was the only thing that gave me any relief between the endless physio appointments I was dragging myself to.
Eventually I thought: if I want a real solution, I'm going to have to create one.
Fast forward many years, a career pivot, and a thriving acupuncture practice later — jaw tension, TMJ and teeth grinding are among the most common things I treat. It's incredibly common. It's genuinely debilitating. And it doesn't get nearly enough credit for how much it affects your whole life.
It's a bitch.
But it doesn't have to be.
